Available is a woodblock print titled "Autumn Fragrance". It is attributed to Qi Baishi, a renowned 20th-century Chinese painter and printmaker celebrated for his depictions of natural scenes. Qi’s works, especially from the mid-20th century, often showcase a fluidity and simplicity that resonated deeply with both his contemporaries and collectors.

Qi Baishi often chose vegetables, fruits, or flowers that are abundant in autumn as subjects for his paintings. Here, the flower is golden osmanthus fragrans, (金桂花 jinguihua). An evergreen shrub native to southwestern China, golden osmanthus fragrans is also found in Hunan Province, where the artist spent his childhood. The rich fragrance of this flower wafting on the air is a sign of the onset of autumn. The flower is also known as the Nine League Blossom (九里花 jiulihua), because the scent can be detected two miles away.

This print has been professionally examined and appraised. It will be shipped professionally, insured and with a signature required.
